All Grain Breakfast Cereal

This is great pre or post run nutrition or for any morning you're feeling healthy. Recipe courtesy of Steve.

Whole Grains:
Spelt, Rye, White Wheat, Red Wheat, Barley, Oats, and Brown Rice

Cracked & Rolled Grains:
Cracked Wheat, Corn Grits, 6-Grain Rolled, 9-Grain Rolled, and Rolled Oats

Instructions: (makes about 5 servings)
Boil 5 cups water
Add salt - approx ½ tsp.

Choose ½ cup total of any combination of Whole Grains. Add to boiling water.

Add 1 ¼ cups total of any combination of Cracked &/or Rolled Grains to boiling water.

Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes uncovered. Stir occasionally to keep grains mixed and not sticking to pot. Turn off heat, cover, and let cool on stove overnight.

To prepare:
In the morning, microwave 1 cup cereal with milk/silk, raisins and/or craisins or whatever else sounds good for approx 1:30 min.

Top with fresh fruit, nuts, sunflower seeds, honey, a dash of brown sugar or whatever else sounds good.

Refrigerate unused portion for tomorrow’s breakfast.

All grain items available at Kitchen Kneads in Ogden.
